How to Take Part
At most shows there is a Pet Class which runs alongside the main BRC (British Rabbit Council) show. To participate in the Pet Class you may not need to be a member of the BRC, but this down to the individual clubs digression. Please contact the club running the show to clarify this for you.
To take part in shows you will need to enter the show beforehand, and arrive before judging commences. At the show you will need to pay for your entries, and you will then be given a pen number. During the show your rabbit will need access to water at all times. You can also provide your rabbit with hay and anything further that they require.
Show Preparation
There are a number of things that you can do to prepare your rabbit for a show:
Best Pet
Once the judge has assessed all of the rabbits in the Pet Class they will select the winner. The winner will be the ‘Best Pet’ and will receive a prize card and rosette. Showing in the Pet Class can be a good first step in experiencing the rabbit fancy.
We hope that you enjoy attending shows :)

Show Preparation
There are a number of things that you can do to prepare your rabbit for a show:
- Ensure that your rabbit is in good health and fit to attend the show - i.e. bright and alert, no nasal or eye discharge, and teeth are not overgrown or misaligned. Rabbits who are not in a fit state to be judged will be disqualified.
- Groom your rabbit with a soft brush to remove any loose hairs.
- Ensure that your rabbits nails are not over grown and trim them if necessary.
- Keep your rabbit as clean as possible before the show to reduce any staining on the feet. Regularly removing soiled bedding is the best way to do this.
